General Music
In our general music class, students will explore various aspects of music making. Through singing, percussion, rhythm games and more, we will make connections with music across different genres and cultural backgrounds, as well as build the foundations of critical listening and ear training.
This is a non-performing group.
Chorus
These groups will explore songs across several genres and make meaningful cultural connections to the music while practicing ear training and working on vocal technique with the goal of finding their healthiest sound.
These groups perform a minimum of two times a year.
Piano
This is an introductory piano class ideal for students with little to no piano experience. In this class, students will learn how to apply prior general music knowledge to the piano. They will learn how to read music starting with the basics and on to more challenging songs.
This group performs two times a year.
Recorder Ensemble
This is an introductory wind instrument group, which focuses on the recorder, a flute-like instrument. In this class, students will explore the science behind woodwind instruments, learn how to read music on the recorder, and how to apply that knowledge during independent practice.
This group performs two times a year.
